I started Honey after having witnessed first-hand the impact that music can have in soundtracking some of the most important moments in our lives. From weddings to fashion events, and everything in between, I have spent the last decade watching magic unfold on the dance floor in front of me. As we reunite a post-COVID world, we’re eager to embrace love and togetherness with a whole new perspective. Life is just too short for music that doesn’t touch our hearts.
For Indiana-born Kara Ford, music has been a burning passion since early childhood. She spent her teenage years glued to the screen watching back-to-back music videos in the early days of MTV, and covering her favorite tunes on guitar and piano—it was a no-brainer that she would wind up working in the music industry in some capacity.
After graduating from Purdue Univerisity with a degree in Business, Kara moved to Los Angeles with dreams of pursuing a career in artist management, but serendipitously she wound up trying her hand at DJing.
Her natural flair for the craft has seen her client list span the likes of HBO, Disney, Nike and Amazon. After eight successful years in her dream job, Kara decided to set her sights on something bigger: an agency. Flash forward one year? Honey was born.
CREATIVE DIRECTOR, CO-FOUNDER
Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Anna Blecker relocated to sunny Los Angeles in 2015 to pursue her love of music, design and marketing. Having worked in a rich and varied cross-section of roles within the music industry—from producing to A&R—she eventually co-created The Think Mill. Shortly after the company’s launch, Anna met Kara Ford, with whom she shared similar ambitions to shake up and reimagine the future of events. After one year of development, the female duo couldn’t be more excited to release their baby, Honey, into the world.
When we are allowed to safely gather together, we will be more emotional, more excited, and more ready to live each day like it’s our last. I see us choosing not to worry as much about the little things, and focusing more on the beauty of simplicity, and the importance of just enjoying our time together.
